Day 5 – Breakfast at hotel > Check-in > Zen Spa > Ho Chi Minh Masoleum > One Pillar Pagoda > Temple of Literature > early dinner at Quan An Ngon > souvenir shopping in Citimart > walk along the Hoan Kiem Lake
We got off the train at around 5am & finally back to Hanoi
We couldn’t get early check-in until 9am. We ended up killing time at the lobby restaurant at Hotel de l’opera.
I think this beef pho is the best one I’ve ever tried in Hanoi. It has less herbs than the pho from Pho Thin.
After 2 days of intensive hiking, we treated ourselves a nice body massage at the Zen Spa. This place is highly recommended in most guide books.
The treatment room is not as impressive as the ones in Bali and the massage was alright. Felt like this place is overrated.
It is located near the West Lake and it will take about 15mins by taxi to get there from Hoan Kiem Lake area.
Address: 100 Xuan Dieu, Tay Ho, Hanoi
After massage, we took a cab to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
One Pillar Pagoda. It is close to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Nothing too impressive about it.
Temple of Literature
We went to Quan An Ngon for early dinner. It is like a food court with all kind of Vietnamese dishes. It has all the Vietnamese dishes you can think of and they even have the street food available for order.
Highly recommend the prawn
The server will help you to cut the meat of the prawn and serve with rice paper and some herbs. Since they know we are tourist, the server even demonstrate how to use the rice paper to make a roll with the prawn.
Quan An Ngon
Address: 18 Phan Boi Chau, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
We went to the supermarket to buy some local ingredients & some instant beef pho as souvenirs. We bought the fish sauce & Vietnamese pork roll there. You can find local coffee powder there with the Vietnamese coffee dripping cup. It is highly recommended to buy your instant noodle from the supermarket as it is much cheaper than the airport shops.
Address: 49 Ha Bai Trung Street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
We spent our last night in Hanoi strolling around Hoan Kiem Lake.
We saw many locals drinking this on the street. We decided to give it a try on our last night. It gives a citrus taste and we still have no idea about what it is.
