Day 2 – Breakfast > full day Phi Phi Island tour > street food dinner in Ao Nang > Thai foot massage
Since our hotel room rate does not include breakfast, we went to the local restaurants near our hotel for breakfast. There are some restaurants about 5 mins walk from Mercure serving western breakfast (e.g. scramble eggs with toast, muesli) with average 150Baht per head.
We were picked up at our hotel lobby to get on the speed boat for the Phi Phi island tour. There was something wrong with the motor of our speed boat and they need to drop us off at Poda Island and wait till a new speedboat to come pick us up. Normally Poda Island is not included in the Phi Phi Island tour.
Some tourists rent a long tail boat for full day island hopping.
Our tour guide told us to relax on the beach and took photos on the island. We didn’t go snorkelling in this Island. After Poda Island, we went somewhere (totally forgot the place) for our 1st snorkelling in the open water. We got about 30mins snorkelling time before going to have lunch. Our tour includes buffet lunch at Phi Phi Don (nothing fancy about this buffet but you can go for the 2nd or 3rd round if you are really hungry). The island seems to be quite touristy.
We left Phi Phi Don after lunch. Our speedboat stopped by viking cave where the locals collect the edible birds-nest.
We got another 30 mins for snorkelling near the Maya beach.
After snorkelling, we got some free time to walk on the beach. Maya beach was made famous as it was the setting for Leonardo Dicaprio’s movie “The Beach” and this explains why the beach was over-crowded.
The full day tour finished at around 4pm and went back to the hotel to refresh ourselves before dinner.
The chicken noodle outside The Small Hotel 50Baht only! Highly recommended!
Thai banana pancake with condense milk
We went to Sawasdee Massage (located next to Ban Ao Nang Resort) for foot massage after dessert. It is only 200Baht for 60mins and the quality is quite good.
