Park Grand London Lancaster Gate
I had a business trip in the UK during August 2015 and was able to spend the weekend in London. It was nearing the end though still the peak season in London and all the hotels in a good location are in general, quite expensive. After some research, we decided to stay near Paddington station as it is about 20mins away from Heathrow airport by Heathrow Express.
I was paying about US$200 per night for the club twin room as I originally planned to share the room with my coworker. The club room is the only option for twin bed and it’s more expensive than the king bed (deluxe room, 1 room category lower than the Club Twin room). Mr Map decided to tag along after I booked the non-refundable rate. I could have saved a few hundreds HKD for that! It is still good value for money comparing with other hotels’ rate in central London.
The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood with some restaurants and a mid sized supermarket. It is about 5mins walk from Paddington train station and 5mins walk from Lancaster Gate tube station. Travellers coming from Heathrow airport can take the Heathrow Express to Paddington station which is only a 15mins ride. The hotel is located in a very convenient location.

A welcome drink was served upon arrival.
The room is very small (12-15 sq feet according to the official website). After putting our luggage, we barely have any space to walk. I do like the contemporary design of the room and it is quite comfortable.
There isn’t much space for putting toiletries and I don’t like the shower gel provided by the hotel. I felt like the shower gel has a bit of an alcohol feel to it – hard to explain, though it’s not like you’ll get drunk in the shower.
This is the welcome amenity for the club room we’ve booked. Who doesn’t love fruit?
