Ibis Styles Nice Centre Gare
We spent a week in Southern France this summer. As I took a transit flight that landed in Nice, we spent the first night at Ibis Style Nice Centre Gare before picking up our car from the airport the next morning to explore Provence and other areas in Southern France. We also spent another 2 nights at the same hotel at the end of our trip before leaving Nice. Originally I was going to pick a nice hotel close to the beach but they are all a bit pricey. Then I read about Ibis Styles Nice Centre Gare which is a relatively new hotel further away from the beach but close to the train station. The front desk staff are all very helpful and friendly and we had a great time staying there.
It cost us about US$130 per night (including tax) for their standard room with breakfast for 2. We stayed there during late August and it should be the time between the high season and the shoulder season. It was good value for money as the hotel is quite new and convenient. We even got upgraded to the terrace room for our 2nd stay as we had some issue with the toilet in our original room. If you are planning to stay in Nice for a bit longer and wouldn’t mind paying a bit more, I would highly recommend the terrace room.
It is 15mins drive away from the Cote d’Azur airport and 5mins walk from the Nice Ville train station. It is located in a quiet area and around 15mins walk from the beach. It is quite convenient to get around and at a perfect location if you are going to take the train to your next destination (i.e. train to Monaco).
I can’t find the room size from the official website but they are quite small. The room is very basic but it is what I expected for all the ibis hotels. I do like their modern and pastel colors decor. It is good enough for a short stay.
Standard room with double bed
The open closet
Terrace room for our 2nd stay. It is a lot nicer.
The bathroom has all the basics you need. They have this all in one shower gel & shampoo in the bathroom and I wasn’t exactly a big fan of it. If you are picky like me about shower gel and shampoo, it is better to bring your own.
There is a kids’ corner where they have some toys for kids and a public computer for hotel guests to use.
The breakfast has all the basics and I can’t complain for the price we paid. They even have this freshly squeezed orange juice machine!
They have yogurt in the fridge
I would highly recommend this hotel to travellers who don’t want to spend a fortune but also want a nice and modern accommodation. We had an enjoyable stay with no complaints. It is good value for money and the location is convenient.
